I had the distinct privilege of watching one of my all-time favorite movies last night, when TCM brought back Arthur. Nominated for four Academy Awards in 1982, Arthur is one of the very few movies I actively rooted for to win. I mean really, with the incredibly funny Dudley Moore teamed up with Liza Minnelli and the awesome Sir John Gielgud, all working together with one of the greatest movies themes ever playing behind them, how could I not?
This is so cool. Neil deGrasse Tyson explains why Stephen Hawking is science’s ultimate badass. And he does a pretty good job of promoting The Theory of Everything too!
Was in a really sour mood earlier today, that is until Happy Gilmore came on! 😉
If you’re a fan of space-based movie magic, then you’re gonna love this one my friends! 😀
This life, it ain’t easy man. I mean, should I attempt to clear out a space for myself in the crowd? Or would I be better off striking out on my own?
Wish I was a normal man
A normal life and a simple plan
A normal home on a normal street
With normal thoughts and normal needs
But sometimes I make believe…
Well my friends, I finally got to see a dentist yesterday, which only required a 5 hour round trip in the freezing cold, including the hour walking to and from bus stops, the time waiting for connections, the 4 bus rides themselves, and the hour I actually spent in the dental office at the health department…
Oh man, I can’t wait until this Christmas thing is over. All my favorite TV shows are on hiatus, to make room for those “seasonal” shows specifically designed to make us more “open” to the “suggestions” offered during the commercial breaks. Hell, even the televised “sporting events” seem to contain more ads than sports. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they had a quota for injury, penalty, and play review timeouts!
And don’t even get me started on that whole “Christmas spirit” thing…
You just never know where those “deep insights” will come from, do you? As a depressed person, living in the world I see around me, I’ve often wondered at what seems like an “inappropriate degree of happiness” in other people. Well I finally got my answer yesterday, in, of all places, the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift…
Believe it or not, I actually watched Thor, The Avengers, and Iron Man 3 last night – back to back to back. As exhausted as I am today, however, I just had to do this quick post to reveal the man that I thought stole the entire show – even though he was in only two of the three movies… Tom Hiddleston as Loki!
