What Would A Patriot Do?

With her Patriotism is more than a lapel pin (video) post, fellow blogger Pied Type inspired a lively discussion about the meaning of, and the abuses inspired by, this thing we call patriotism. Frankly, I wish I’d been able to contribute more to the conversation. But the truth is that my feelings on the subject are a bit “nebulous” to say the least, and even that quote from the Declaration of Independence – which used to seem so definitive to me – now just seems to inspire more questions than it provides answers. I do, however, encourage all my readers to go take a look at Pied Type’s post.

Adding to my own confusion on the matter was the following video posted on The “Great” One’s Blog the day before Pied Type published her post, and seeing it posted again this morning on the Always Question Authority blog is what inspired me to do a post of my own…

Trumping Ebeneezer!

Despite my depression, I am trying to make the best of Christmas. And, as I said this morning, the season hasn’t been without its “brighter” moments. Such as classic ads like this, those “Sugarplum Fairy” type visions, ample chances to mock those “legends of greed,” and, for never once speaking out against the madness inspired by his name, dreams of Michael Jordan getting knocked flat on his “filthy” rich ass! 😈

Just Wake Me When It’s Over…

Oh man, I can’t wait until this Christmas thing is over. All my favorite TV shows are on hiatus, to make room for those “seasonal” shows specifically designed to make us more “open” to the “suggestions” offered during the commercial breaks. Hell, even the televised “sporting events” seem to contain more ads than sports. If I didn’t know better, I’d think they had a quota for injury, penalty, and play review timeouts!

And don’t even get me started on that whole “Christmas spirit” thing…

Verily, Verily, I Say Unto Thee!

So, I started out wanting to make an important statement about human hypocrisy. But you know how that goes. As a mere mortal myself, I’m easily distracted… Resulting in a statement that is, at best, a little ambiguous… And pointing, not towards salvation… But towards more uncertainty instead…

The Onion Mocks The NRA

As I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, I haven’t been feeling very “inspired” to blog lately. I am, however, trying to break out of my rut. And I can think of no better way to begin that effort than by posting this hilarious video from The Onion: Via The Onion on YouTube I just love…

Racism In Politics? Say It Ain’t So!

I saw a couple of posts over at Under The LobsterScope earlier that simply shouted that “synchronicity” thing to me. Okay, I know I tend see connections that others don’t necessarily see, but tell me you can’t see the linkage between this Randy Newman video: Via Some Wednesday Entertainment: Randy Newman’s new election song And…

The Most Blasphemous Thing You’ll See All Day.

Oh the arrogance of mere mortals who believe gods depend on their protection. I’m sure they’d be laughing their asses off if they actually existed, assuming, of course, they’d waste time paying attention to totally insignificant gnats… LMFAO!!! The Onion Does The RNC

When it comes to “fake news” that both makes my jaw drop from shock and leaves me ROFLMFAO, there are few sources greater than The Onion. Unfortunately, they do tend to drag their asses when it comes to uploading their hilarious videos to their YouTube channel. Take the video below for example. I would love…
