From the weird and crazy, to the downright ridiculous, I’ve posted a lot about the law on this blog. So naturally, after seeing some of Olivia Locher’s I Fought The Law collection posted on Visual News, I just had to add another post to my collection! 🙂
In Alabama it’s illegal to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at all times.
Tennessee says you can’t sell hollow logs.
It’s unlawful to tickle women under the chin with a feather duster in Maine.
No one may walk down the street carrying a paper bag containing a violin.
It is illegal to wear transparent clothing in Rhode Island.
In Arizona you may not have more than two dildos in a house
In Connecticut pickles must bounce to officially be considered pickles (Every. Single. One.)
Oregon – one may not test their physical endurance while driving a car on the highway.
It’s illegal to serve wine in teacups in Kansas.
Nobody is allowed to ride a bicycle in a swimming pool in California.
In Delaware it’s illegal to wear pants that are “form fitting” around the waist.
In Wisconsin it is illegal to serve apple pie in public restaurants without cheese.
In Texas it’s illegal for children to have unusual haircuts.
In Hawaii coins are not allowed to be placed in ones ear.
In Kentucky it’s illegal to paint your lawn red.
In Alaska no persom may drive a vehicle when there are three people in the from seat.
In Pennsylvania it’s illegal to go fishing with dynamite.
In Ohio it’s illegal to disrobe in front of a mans portrait.
In Colorado it’s illegal to have weeds in your yard.
In Georgia picnics are prohibited in graveyards.

Stupid bloody laws, who the hell thinks half of them up 🙂

It’s hard for me to imagine that any real thought went into them Harry. I think a lot of them are purely the result of a panicked, re-election driven, answer to someone screaming “there ought to be a law!” 😐

I blog about silly state laws on occasion.

I suspect that we both could blog about nothing else and still never run out of material!

They must all be incredibly outdated pieces of legislation that the legislators haven’t got around to removing, surely … But they say an awful lot about the various places …

It certainly does say a lot about them M-R – that they’re too busy kissing butt for the sake of getting re-elected to take the time needed to get our houses in order!

You got any of those illegal “weeds” in your yard PT? 😉

Heh, not if I can help it. But I’m more afraid of the HOA and the neighbors than I am of the state.

I’ll gladly trade neighbors with you PT. I don’t think mine would give a hoot WHAT you were growing! 🙂

Well, maybe I shouldn’t admit this, but I can kinda see where one or two of them came from (like no booze in teacups and no fishing with dynamite). Although, as a Mexican-American, I am deciding to be offended by the “no picnics in graveyards” law — where else are we supposed to celebrate Day of the Dead!? Harumph! 🙂

Not sure about the teacup thing, but fishing with dynamite certainly seems like cheating to me. But I’m willing to let things like that and your graveyard picnics go, as long as I get to keep the portraits up in my bedroom!
