Wow, 5 Years On WordPress!

WordPress 5th AnniversaryI got a little reminder last night, from the nice people at WordPress, that yesterday marked the 5th anniversary of the date that I ported my little collection of lunatic rants over from where it began on Blogger. As I was in the middle of an attempt to reduce the massive backlog of programs stored on my DVR – while adding 8 1/2 more hours to it at the same time 😳 – I had a lot of time to reflect back on that five years of blogging…

When I was finally exhausted from all the TV watching, while trying to think of something profound to say to mark the occasion at the same time, it occurred to me that it wasn’t really necessary, as these two songs I heard last night…

Along with the final paragraph from my very first rant…

And for those who wonder why I obviously still haven’t just ‘turned and walked away’ – why I would even bother to write this? The simple and easy answer is that I’m ‘mentally ill’ – what else could you expect? For those seeking evidence of ‘evil intent,’ the answer might be that I’m some mad ‘arch-villain’ seeking proof that those who read this will act in the manner my ‘theory’ predicts. The truth is that I just needed to speak my mind, and being able to take the time to get it right before it’s heard is simply too cool to pass up.

– From my Opening Rant

Sums up, rather well I think, both why I started blogging in the first place, and what the experience has been like so far. The only thing left is to thank all of those who were gracious enough to join me on this wild and crazy ride…

Thank you all so very much, for helping make the past five years so worth it! 😀

I want ice water.

  1. Congratulations Izaak, I admire your staying power. In fact, I’m inspired. I shall now attempt to make a profound comment to commemorate the occasion.
