Life, my friends. It begins with such soaring possibilities…
Only to rapidly sink to absurd and embarrassing lows…
Which, I suppose, is how we come to this…
For what can we do but grin and bear it? We all remember the “millennials” we once were too…
I want ice water.

This is great! Love the song! What a talented guy.
Yes, we were all “millennials” too, but as I recall we didn’t act like today’s millennials.(Or maybe it was just me.)

Oh he really is talented! And yes, it is just you. But it’s also me. Every new generation I’ve seen since mine seemed weird. And, as I recall, the generations older than me thought mine was a little weird as well. Hell, they probably still do! 🙂

Seems like a natural, generational thing. The elders always think the youngsters are weird … or worse. My parents railed about hippies and peaceniks, “sex, drugs, and rock and roll,” obscene dancing, etc. As one of today’s elders, I am appalled by the angry overt racism and violence that seem to be engulfing our society, and the intractable partisanship that increasingly divides us.

First, a few lines from Pink Floyd:
“Us and them
And after all we’re only ordinary men.
Me and you
God only knows it’s not what we would choose to do.”
“Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
Up and down
And in the end it’s only round and round. And round.”
The roles we play, we play because they give us some measure of comfort. That is, until we find out the punches thrown and the bullets fired are for real.
