If you saw, then you know why I’m playing it. If you didn’t see it, well, that’s your loss…
Oh hell, I survived one traumatic TV finale, so I guess it’s time to dive into the last 2 House episodes that have been sitting in my DVR for 16 months. Call the Hazmat guys if you haven’t heard from me in a week… 😉
I want ice water.

Don’t know how this final scene could have been any better. Have I mentioned how much I’m going to miss the show? 😦

Change that to 😥 That’s what I meant.

I knew it. You’re as big a softy as I am PT!
BTW, I’m still in the middle of the first of those 2 House episodes and was just crying my eyes out when House, attempting to get Wilson to continue his treatment, had a whole room of Wilson’s former patients stand up to remind him of all the good he’s done and can still do. But then Wilson figured out that none of them were former patients of his and House was just trying to trick him back onto his meds…

That was another great series. I miss it.

I managed to get through the first episode. Wow, what a roller-coaster that was! Now I’m trying to decide if I’m really up to watching the actual finale tonight… 😕

Couldn’t agree more PT!

I will now never be able to separate this song from the series. So phenomenal.

I am so with you on that Spencer! One question. My friend Pied Type says Walt planned to Kill Jesse until he saw how they had him all shackled up like that. I say Walt knew all along that Jesse wouldn’t have willingly cooked for the Nazi bastards and planned to rescue him if he could. What do you think? 😀

I don’t think Walt ever had it in him to directly kill Jesse. That being said, I don’t think it was initially a part of the plan to save Jesse either.
But seeing him in shackles definitely elicited a familial, patriarchal instinct. Similar to what Walt experienced when he watched Hank die.
So it sounds like a cop out, but I kind of agree with both of you!

They didn’t answer it directly, but your answer pretty much matches what they revealed of the writer’s thoughts on “Talking Bad” after the show. Call me naive, but I just think of Walt as a misguided “super-genius” (like a serious version of Wyle E. Coyote). He did what circumstances forced him to do, and damned well at that, but he never really wanted to hurt anyone…

Wyle E. Coyote – that’s interesting. I might attribute that kind of of cartoonish quality to Jesse, but not so much Walt. He may have been that way for the first episode, and sort of reverted back in the very last (with his silly-but-lethal machine gun robot thing) but he’s mostly pretty sinister. I’d say he’s downright scary and ruthless for a very large part of the series.
There are people he will go out of his way to protect. But anyone outside of that circle is susceptible to his villainy.

I didn’t mean to imply that I thought of Walt as cartoonish. He was anything but that. But I can’t bring myself to think of him as a villain either. He was just caught up in a world where it’s either be a serious badass or die. You’re new to this blog, so you wouldn’t know that I have some “differences of opinion” with most people when it comes to morality. And I stay away from people these days because the ones I’ve known started looking, to me, way too much like those Nazi’s looked to Walt…

“Ozymandias”, which was two episodes back was the best one, according to Vince Gilligan. I agree. (Not that I didn’t love the finale.)

They were all so good my friend! But my favorite scene has to be this one from “Face Off”:

I just read the first of your post again. I thought you said you had the last two episodes of Breaking Bad on your DVR, that’s why I was encouraging you to watch Ozymandias. My bad!

Oh I’ve seen it, and loved it too. But finales are “difficult” for me, as I get so wrapped up in my favorite shows. Which is why I’m just getting around to watching the finale of House, M.D. after 16 months. 😳
