Take A Trip And Never Leave The Farm!

As much as I love the old Jim Stafford song from which I took the title for this post (and as many times as I’ve personally experienced what that song was all about), the fact is that the “trips” I’ve dreamed of taking most have always been of an altogether different kind. Here a just two examples…

The first example is the really cool Space Suite_Concept video, by Lucas Green, that I found over on Universe Today:

Moons pass by Saturn’s rings. An eclipse takes place on Jupiter. We see these shots every day in images from space agencies, but how would it be to actually float in a nearby spacecraft and watch these in action?

An incredible new Vimeo video called “Space Suite” shows off what it actually could be like. And here’s the neat thing — it is heavily based on those very same jaw-dropping shots space agencies regularly release.

The second example is the awesome fractal loop, created by the folks at The Imaginary Foundation, that was linked to in a post on Visual News:

From the creative minds of The Imaginary Foundation, a think tank in Switzerland, comes this fractal loop that could keep you busy all day long! Follow an astronaut through the cosmos on this digitally detailed loop that keeps going and revealing more colorful pieces each time you watch. The images here are taken from the loop, but to get the full effect, you must see for yourself on Cosmic-Symbolism.com.

You know, there’s a thing about dreams…

All good things gotta come to an end
And it’s the same with the wildwood weed
One day this feller from Washington come by
And he spied us and he turned white as a sheet
Well they dug and they burned, and they burned and they dug
And they killed all our cute little weeds
Then they drove away, and we just smiled and waved…
Sittin’ there on that sack of seeds!

Y’all come back now, ya hear?

Jim Stafford: Wildwood Weed

Just like the wildwood weed, they almost impossible to kill! 😀

I want ice water.
