With Stars In My Eyes…

Like my friend Pied Type, I also find a lot of the “photographs of the year” going around to be a little depressing. And I don’t think any one image posted by me could top the wonderful “alternative” image she included in her Trying to end on a high note post. Which is why I’ve chosen to post my twelve favorite images from the Huffington Post’s 24 Of The Most Awe-Inspiring Astrophotos Of 2014 instead! 😀

Here’s hoping the New Year will bring far less to depress us, and far more to make us smile. Of course if that doesn’t work out, you can always do what I do: Keep looking up! 😀

  1. Photos like these are the real stars, aren’t they? (Sorry, bad pun.) I did think about the photo of the Orion launch, but since I’d already posted it, I decided on something else. Besides, the Orion photo wasn’t included in any of the collections I looked at, no doubt because is was a NASA photo.

    Happy New Year, Mak!!

    • Thanks Val. Aren’t those cool? I’m partial to those with people in them myself – especially the two with the one lone guy. Of course, I had to include the one with the stars are spinning around the old jet too! 😀

  2. Happy 2015, Mak! Saw your pingback while reading PT’s post & had to check. Beautiful images all! My fave is the larger one w/ the Northern Lights… a dream is to see them with my own eyes. Thanks for searching and sharing 🙂

    • Thank YOU for stopping by Karen! Seeing the Northern Lights is also a dream of mine. Interestingly, there was a news report on yesterday saying they might be visible as far south as northern Ohio this weekend. That’s just a couple of hundred miles from where I am! 😀
