  1. Just sent an Email letter to a friend with a fifteen year old son who says he will join the military when he can. I tried to get the message across without being preachy (difficult) about it maybe not being the best idea ever. Her only son. Her only kid. I said time passes quickly and inferred that before she knew it the decision would force itself into their lives. My species seems to disappoint more often than not.

    • I hear you my friend. My live-in son, who is approaching 30, has made so many bad choices that he now thinks joining the army may be the best option he has left. I know he won’t listen to me, so I’m just hoping they’ll say he’s too old, or unqualified, or something…
