Led Zeppelin – Thank You…

From the 1969 Led Zeppelin II album, Thank You was the first Led Zeppelin song with lyrics written entirely by singer Robert Plant – as a tribute to his then-wife Maureen. It was also the song that signaled to guitarist Jimmy Page that Plant could now handle the majority of the lyrics writing for the band’s songs…

If the sun refused to shine
I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea
There would still be you and me

Kind woman
I give you my all
Kind woman
Nothing more …

And so today, my world it smiles
Your hand in mine, we walk the miles

Thanks to you, it will be done
For you to me, are the only one!
