Thursday Flashbacks

You know how they say you’re only as old as you feel? Well, I’m feeling about 120 years old today, so I thought I’d treat myself, and anyone feeling as I do, to these flashes from the past… 😉

In The Princess Bride, Inigo’s quest for his father’s killer is one of the most successful subplots in film history. Watching his performance, it’s such an emotional scene. I was looking up little known facts about the movie and found out that the reason this scene is so moving is because just after Mandy Patinkin took this role, his father died of cancer. In this fight he imagined that this was his chance to beat cancer, to come to terms with his father’s death by getting revenge on cancer (The Six-Fingered Man). Pretty sure I’ve cried whenever I see that scene ever since.

Finally, have you ever seen a celebrity and said to yourself, “That guy’s still alive? Just how old is he?” Well now there’s a sight where you can get the age of any celebrity by typing on your browser “how.old.is/” and then the person’s name. For example: how.old.is/Mandy Patinkin. And if you’ve got lots of time on your hands, typing how.old.is/ all by itself will launch the site in game mode, where you get to test your knowledge by guessing the ages of celebrities at random… O_o

I want ice water.
