Thought I’d Something More To Say…

Depression, depression. Not really having anything to say, and feeling as if no one would want to hear it even if I did. Yada, yada, yada. So let’s just listen to some great music instead… πŸ™„

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way

Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today

And then the one day you find, ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun…

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again

The sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over
Thought I’d something more to say…

It’s weird. I’ve fancied myself speaking with an English accent for as long as I can remember, but this “hanging on in quiet desperation” bit is definitely growing a bit tiresome… 😐

I want ice water.

    • Good one Phillip. Churchill said “If you’re going through hell, keep going.” The problem is that I’ve got to stop and rest from time to time. And stopping to rest in hell has consequences… 😐

  1. I agree. It is hard sometimes to find the light when there is so much darkness crowding it out.
Keep writing. Believe it or not, it is helpful. And keep looking for the beauty in life.
Winston Churchill knew what he was talking about then as well. Did you also know that he also said that he likes to keep a post between him and an on-coming train? He knew exactly what it feels like. πŸ™‚
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other.

    • Thank you my friend. It’s funny how I started this blog as a “self-therapy” journal, and yet my desire to express myself is the first thing to go when the bottom falls out… 😳

The more I learn about Churchill, the more I’m reminded of myself. Unfortunately, a post will protect him from an oncoming train about as well as my attempt to predict what people will say prepares me for actual conversation! πŸ™„

      • When the bottom falls out, it is so much easier to curl up in a ball and stay under the blankets. Been there – done that.
Stop trying to predict what people will say and go with the flow. Makes things a lot less stressful that’s for sure.:)

        • My friends, my family, and my doctors have been giving me pretty much the same advise for as long as I can remember Suz, and it’s always seemed to work for them. The thing is that they’re all crazy – after all, they live in the same world I do and aren’t morbidly depressed by it – and the consequences of attempting to “go with their flow” are what ultimately convinced me I was better off becoming a hermit! 😯

            • It’s probably me who should apologize my friend, as that was meant as a joke rather than a rebuke. Communication errors like that happen with me a lot, which goes back to that predicting what people will say thing – so I can have time to consult my Bizarro World translation book! πŸ˜†

              • Dont’ blame yourself. It is terribly difficult to interpret the written word when you can’t see or hear the other person. πŸ˜€
I wasn’t much of a Seinfeld watcher but I do like that clip! πŸ˜‰

                • Funny, I hardly ever watched Seinfeld myself. I was actually looking for a “Bizarro World” definition I could link to, but that video seemed like a perfect substitute! πŸ˜€
