Burning Love…

Okay, some might consider my longing for love to be normal, and even touching perhaps. Others might see my obsession with the “tragic” kind of love as a sign that I might just be little “touched” in the head instead. Well, putting opinions and psychobabble aside, all I know is that watching Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army back to back last night has left me with my horns inflamed, my tail a-twitching, and my heart lusting for some burning love… 😉

Well, I’m hot blooded – Check it and see
I got a fever of a hundred and three
Come on baby – Do you do more than dance?
I’m hot blooded, I’m hot blooded

You don’t have to read my mind – To know what I have in mind
Honey you oughta know
Now you move so fine – Let me lay it on the line
I wanna know what you’re doin’ after the show

Foreigner Lyrics

Elvis Presley – Burning Love (with Lyrics)

Now it’s up to you – We can make a secret rendezvous
Just me and you – I’ll show you lovin’ like you never knew

Foreigner Lyrics

Breaking Benjamin – Dance With The Devil (with Lyrics)

If it feels alright – Maybe you can stay all night
Shall I leave you my key?
But you’ve got to give me a sign – Come on girl, some kind of sign
Tell me, are you hot mama? – You sure look that way to me

Foreigner Lyrics

Stars – Your Ex-Lover Is Dead (with Lyrics)

Are you old enough? – Will you be ready when I call your bluff?
Is my timing right? – Did you save your love for me tonight?

Foreigner Lyrics

Ben Moody featuring Anastacia – Everything Burns (with Lyrics)

Now it’s up to you – Can we make a secret rendezvous?
Oh, before we do – You’ll have to get away from you know who

Foreigner Lyrics

Barry Manilow – Can’t Smile Without You (with Lyrics)

Hot blooded, every night – Hot blooded, you’re looking so tight
Hot blooded, now you’re driving me wild – Hot blooded, I’m so hot for you, child
Hot blooded, I’m a little bit high – Hot blooded, you’re a little bit shy
Hot blooded, you’re making me sing – Hot blooded, for your sweet sweet thing

Foreigner Lyrics

You know, in a world so often dominated by bigotry and prejudice, I think the symbology of a devil carrying a torch can be a useful reminder for us of the price we pay for our intolerance. After all, no one knows what the future holds, or whose help we may need in repairing the messes we make in our world…

Hellboy & Liz - Burning Love

Perhaps it’s best to let our enemies reveal themselves to us on their own and in their own time, rather than creating them ourselves by arbitrarily stomping on the things we all have in common – such as the need to be loved! 😕

I want ice water.

  1. “Hot Blooded” embarrassed the heck out of me when it came out because it was so blatantly sexual and the boys at my high school played it constantly. I remember that I wouldn’t look any of them in the eye when it was playing, lol! “A little bit shy” indeed! 😉

    • That’s funny Marie. I was a little older than you when “Hot Blooded” came out (married with at least two kids), but I was nevertheless still painfully shy! 😳

Though I already owned the “Double Vision” album, and eventually owned the first four, what really drew my attention to that song was a weird kind of “poetry reading” / “horror sermon” put on by the host of a local TV station’s late, late movie show. God, I wish I could find a video of that bit. As I recall, he was dressed up like a cross between a vampire and a priest, and reading the lyrics to “Hot Blooded” from behind a black lectern lit all in red lighting, with flashes of lightning and the roar of thunder at strategic points during the reading. It was so damned cool! And It was the memory of that bit that inspired me to put this post together the way I did! 😀

        • “Scartisha?” Really? What a hoot Marie! For the life of me, I can’t remember enough details to pin down the host’s name, or even the station, that did the “Hot Blooded” routine. But I do remember very well the guy who dominated our local late-nite, and no doubt inspired the other station to let their guy go a little crazy to raise there ratings: Fritz the Night Owl!
