Earth Day 2013

Wow, so much has happened since I first posted this video eight days ago, and, unfortunately, much of what has happened was bad. But when I consider that so many of the bad things that happen on our precious little world result from our behaving as if we are somehow “above” nature, as opposed to being an integral part of it, I think Carl Sagan’s message is even more important today, Earth Day 2013:

Remember my friends, we aren’t special because the story is being written about us. We’re special because, of all the creatures we know, we’re the only ones capable of reading the book. Appreciating that allows us to truly appreciate each other, and our precious little world. Happy Earth Day everyone!
