Facebook Follies!

As much as I’ve grown to dislike Facebook, it can still be a great source for grins on occasion. Here are just a couple of examples, posted to my timeline by my friend Rosie, that act as reminders of why I should visit it more often than I do:

Grown Folk Talk At The Round Table

Grown Folk Talk At The Round Table Lawyers should never ask a Georgia grandma a question if they aren’t prepared for the answer…

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.

He approached her and asked, “Mrs. Jones, do you know me?”

She responded, “Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I’ve known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you’ve been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you’re a big shot when you haven’t the brains to realize you’ll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.”

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, “Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?”

She again replied, “Why yes, I do. I’ve known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He’s lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can’t build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.”

The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said, “If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I’ll send you both to the electric chair!”

I’m not sure how Rosie got my face in there, but she managed to capture my Valentine’s Day mood quite well I think! 😆

I want ice water.

  1. Nice to have friends in low places. A casual comment to the wife, as we watched Castle on TV, that, with a name like Stana Katic (Kate Beckett), her heritage must be Eastern European, sent me on a voyage to Wikipedialand, to justify it. Imagine my surprise when I found that she was born down the highway, in Hamilton, Ontario. (Castle) Nathan Filion is from Edmonton. Wow, two leading Canadian actors in one hit American show. That hasn’t happened since Bill Shatner ballooned and had split personality for Boston Legal. Kitchener’s all over your revolvermap tonight.

    • Never having been much for delving into the lives of others, I haven’t really looked into the backgrounds of the “stars” I like very much. But I can’t help noticing that a lot of them do seem to come from Canada. I love “Castle” and I had the same thoughts based on Stana Katic’s name. Nathan Fillion has been a favorite of mine since “Firefly” and “Serenity,” and I thought the Shatman was what made “Boston Legal” worth watching.

Thanks for checking out so much of my stuff my friend! 😀
