When shopping for Thanksgiving, one should remember that some “free giveaways” are to be avoided at all costs:
Here’s a few more shopping thoughts from Feasting on a Budget [infographic]:

Finally, did you know that Benjamin Franklin actually preferred the Turkey over the Bald Eagle as the national bird of the United States? And no, I’m not talking about the plump “domesticated” variety you’ll be serving up tomorrow, but genuine “wild” Turkeys – ones that can actually fly – like those in the PBS documentary My Life as a Turkey. The entire program is at that site. Check it out some time. I think you’d like it! 😀

No real Turkey Day here this year. The kids are going skiing tomorrow and we’re getting together for dinner out on Friday. I don’t blame my daughter-in-law for choosing skiing over a day on the slopes. A big T-Day meal is, at best, a lot of work for the hostess. Maybe I’ll order a pizza tomorrow.

However you spend it Pied, I hope you enjoy the holiday. I hear BBQ Chicken pizza is good!?!? 😀

Yes it is. One of my faves if I’m buying frozen. But when I’m ordering a real pizza, it’s pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms.

Wow, except for adding banana peppers, that’s exactly how I order them! 😀

WKRP was one of those shows that will always stay with you . . . Les Nesmond and his tape walls and door. Venus Flytrap, such a great DJ name. But the turkey drop–that was absolutely epic. Epically epic, if I might. “As god as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.”

“Epically epic” is the perfect description! As good as the show was though, I was still amazed at how much I found when a went searching… 😀

Every time I hear a politician trying to “explain” his failings, what I actually hear is “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!” 😆
