Large, Dangerous Rocket Ships!

Watching the Science Channel’s Large, Dangerous Rocket Ships sure took me back to my boyhood fantasies (Environmental Impact) of building and flying my own rockets:

But not once did I ever dream of launching anything like this:

Let alone having my rocket be disqualified from the competition for flying too high!

And while my thoughts centered almost exclusively around conventional chemical-powered rockets, I would have jumped at a chance to fly an awesome water-powered beauty like this:

In case you’re confused, that was footage from an on-board video camera!

I want ice water.

    • Like I said in that Environmental Impact post I mentioned, I was an absolute rocket NUT when I was a boy! And now, if it’s about rockets, space travel, astronomy – hell ANYTHING science a geek would go for, I’ve tried to post something about it! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • The were pretty cool, eh? I tried to find a better video of the water one, perhaps showing the launch from a distance before switching to the on-board camera, but I couldn’t find one. Also, I opted against a much longer version of the Xmas tree adventure, which included efforts to recover the scattered bits and pieces – including shards of glass! ๐Ÿ˜€
