Julian Beever Sidewalk Art

I’ve had these images by Julian Beever for a while now. They were originally sent to me by the same great friend that forwards the e-mail funnies to me. I apologize for taking so long to share them.

It’s truly amazing what this guy can do with plain old chalk.

Yeah, that’s right! Chalk!

Take note of the lines dividing the sections of sidewalk.

If you’re impressed with crop circles, then…

Imagine what this guy could do!

Hats off to those artists… those are some amazing drawings. That’s what I call talent!

I was so stunned when I first saw these images that I had to spend some time searching each one for the splits in the sidewalk. But they are there. It makes me shut up now whenever I’m about to complain about the neighbor’s kids chalk drawings on my sidewalk. I could be stifling the next great talent!

My cousin’s husband sent these to me months ago, and somehow I deleted them. I’m so delighted to have found them again. It is astonishing, both as a vision and a process.

Thanks for posting them. I wish I could see them in person. They’re unbelievable.

Did you see the link to his site that I added at the bottom? What I’ve posted here is just a sample! Man, if I had just a fraction of his talent I could be posting some of the ‘cartoon images of life’s little jokes’ that keep popping into my head!

    These are really impressive!
It makes my childhood hopscotch sidewalk chalk art look like toilet paper after it’s been used.

    • IzaakMak says:

He really does. There’s a kid that lives next door to me, who’s always drawing stuff on the sidewalk in front of our apartment building. I’ve often thought of how nice it would be to show him this guy’s work! :-D

I love Julian Beever too! Gosh, he has patience, besides talent, and that is lacking in so many artists nowadays (including me!).

    Have you seen Bansky?

It’s different stuff, but I thought you’ll like Bansky. He is one of my hot faves! :D

  11. IzaakMak says:

Wow, thanks for the intro. Bansky has some portfolio! :-D
